Default Tiny gets a new comp rig :)

Well aftrer parting out the GQ I have being getting the jitters a bit, was going to build a zook with GQ diffs, coils overs etc, but some one posted this 70s in outers chit chat the other day and in a moment if insanity I bid on it and it is not sitting im my front yard

The guy that owned it did a little bit on it, but as far as most of the mods on it goes, didnt know much, so some of the specs such as diff ratios are any ones geuss, I will sit down one day when I have the mind set and try and work back based on rations I know :?

SO the specs (AFAIK) are as follows.

BJ70 choped pick up thing

6.2Ltr Chev V8 Diesel (N/A)

70s gear box, transfer, diffs

SPOA

Front shackles moved to rear

Histeer, all the SPOA stuff done

very small fuel tank mounted at rear

Tractor / truck battery mounted at rear

winch cradle

rock lights

44" boggers, rears have being sliced and diced

F&R air lockers

Crawler gears (55%??)

Diff ratios??? ratio??? will check one day

Bead lcoked rims, 1" spacers

Engineers report

Rock lights

Plan to do.....

get ready for blue slip

Repaint

B pillar cage

Sliders

Removable half (front part) exo to mount off the sliders and b pillar cage

Winch (high mount of course)

37 road tyres MTRS

decent seats, harnesses, nets etc for comps

some weather protection

flares

fix compresor. lockers dont work well with out them

sort fuel issue for trips

Roof basket and lights for trips

Thats all I can think of ATM

PICS....what you all REALLY want to see

ENGINE

the veiw from above, shock towers...

bead locked

Steering set up

Eaton fuller truck gear know with rang swtiches make for easy access locker switched

veiw of the rear shows pinion angle etc

fuel cell and battery tray at the rear

one mess that needs sorting

front tyres, good tread

Rear tyres, need to find out about re grooving??

Cant wait to get it ready for a drive, the vacant block at the front only has a stump and one decent hill

The rear end

Its all I had OK...flexing on 2 35" tyres staked up

It looks like you got a good set up there Tiny which doesn't look like a great deal needs to be spent on it. After all the tyres and lockers are some of the dearest parts.

Will them Toyota diffs handle 44s though?

Cheers Mick.

cheers guys

just went right though the engineers to sort out what I need for the blue slip, and everything bar the half doors (may get away with it) is sorted and tyres are a no no of course, but it is engineered for 38.5x15 tyres on 15x10s, I dont know of any tyre in that size in a radial WTF any ideas, surely not engineered on bias ply tyres??

That would depend on the engineer, if the name on the report is
D--- ------s then I'd imagine it was engineered with swampers on it.
