Different rules around Oz:

I keep being asked, " What are the new rules for 4WDs in each state." Does anyone know where/how to get a copy of ALL the new Legislations for each State /Territory?

......and therein lies the problem - we get heaps of new rules that no-one really understands, including the poor coppers who have to enforce them, and no real reference to find them in until you get ambushed

There are no separate rules as such for 4wds, at least in NSW and I would say it would be the same for the other states. NCOP was supposed to bring National Rules but each state has taken what they wanted and rejected what they didn't want. The vehicle modifications for 4wds is no different to any other vehicle state to state. You will have to go to each states road and traffic authority to get their regs.

The problem lies in the fact that a vehicle in one State can be legal but move it to another and it's not!

It is just plain idiotic the way things are, we have ADR standards but it is not standard at all, across all states.:censored:

Yep, that is what the NCOP was supposed to address. Just the heads of each states road and Traffic authority don't like surrendering their empire to a National body. Just pure stupid red tape politicking
