Postby griz » Sun Nov 09, 2014 2:12 pm

Not a full trip report just some pics and a brief description...

On Friday 31st Oct the usual bunch met up for our annual trip together..

The first 4 nights were spent at Beveridges Stn Camp..

Where it was great to see my son do something outdoors..[saved me doing it..lol]

Image

The weather was a mixed bag of hot one day, wet the next, mixed with a bit of snow. On the Sunday we went for a drive to the top of Mt Murray..

Image

Where it was freezing with light snow..

Image

From there it was up to Mount Hotham, where if possible, it was colder. The gauge said 6 degs but the windchill was something else..

As we were planning on not going anywhere on the Monday, Sunday night was a big one [too big at my age] so Monday was a very slow day. But for something different we had decided to have a black tie dinner..

Was a good night with plenty of laughs...

On the Tuesday we headed to our next camp in Wonangatta, [didn't take any pics as I have plenty]. From there on the Wednesday we split into two groups with some taking the easier way to Caledonia and the rest of us going via Herne Spur and Billy Goat Bluff track. Billy Goat was pretty rough and it claimed poor Mike in his Hilux. The inner CV on the driver's side was pulled out of the diff. Luckily his Father is also my mechanic so with some trackside magic he was able to get it mobile..

No pics sorry, but others took some and apparently they are getting sent to me eventually..

We arrived at our campsite fairly late, so it was good that the others had been there a while and had set up a really appreciated shower..

Our camp..

Nice one mate! I kept looking for the "like" button. I guess I need to stay away from bookface!

I'd love to get out on a long trip like that! My last one was a bit of a disaster...

Cheers
