Run into a bit of a problem though using the big queen size self inflating mattress. As the mattress covered the whole width of the camper with the raised floor when I went to close the camper it would not close, the bows had no where to drop down enough to allow all the canvas to fit. Even after taking the awning off it was not going to easily fit.

Part of having been camping a few times over the years we have a fair collection of gear, one was a double bed self inflating mattress. Swapped them over this afternoon and makes it a lot better fit. Just means we will have to lay a bit closer when in the camper.

i'm VERY pleased to report that despite the flooding rains we had over the weekend, the camper was snug, warm and dry. bed was comfy, even though it's a bit smaller than what we're used to sleeping in.

need to get that piano hinge on the bed base - was a bit difficult shoving things under the bed....maybe by BB in november!

Oh well the old camper is up for sale now, have to make way for the new older camper.

After using the camper for the last couple of years we have found a few things we would like that unfortunately this one just can't deliver. The main one being the extra large climb up to the bed and the abseiling out of the bed. As the old camper was a short unit there is nothing we can do to modify that without going completely over board.

We have spoken about it that if we get the chance to get the next size up that allows for a step up before the bed that will make camping a lot more pleasurable for Jan and myself as I get older. Plus the next size up would have the likes of a kitchen already in it.

Anyhow saw this sitting in the local caravan yard and at a price we just could not let it pass, especially for what it has on it.

Ahh, so that's it.

Nice campers aren't they.

We're also looking at replacing the little Jayco with something like this
2006 GU 4.2 Patrol :14:

Team Nissan, the inaugural JLW NavRun Champions.

they are a nice camper Steve. We just have to use it now and get used to it, but it will be so much easier at the end of the day
